(Finance) – The President of Enac, Pierluigi Di Palmaand the President of Confindustria Taranto, Salvatore Tomahave signed an important today agreement to promote a development model for the aerospace supply chain in Taranto, also allowing local companies to acquire skills and know-how to become protagonists of the global market in this constantly growing segment.
Enac President Di Palma: “The objective of the agreement signed today is to develop a technopole capable of guaranteeing fair and effective development of this emerging sector. We want to create, in a strong and necessary public/private synergy, a model of innovative industrial development, capable of making the Grottaglie airport a laboratory of excellence for aerospace. The role of Enac, the aerospace sector authority, is fundamental in following industrial projects for ensure that this transformation path occurs safelytransparent and sustainable: we work in harmony with the private sector to ensure that the opportunities offered by the new frontier of aerospace transport are fully seized to promote the economic development of the territory, offering employment benefits of great interest, including of an academic nature.
With Aeroporti di Puglia and its President Antonio Maria Vasile, the commitment is maximum for the creation of the Grottaglie spaceport which, through the legal entity Criptaliae Spaceport, will be able to lead Italy and Puglia in the race towards suborbital flight, trusting in the support of ‘Air Force which, with its Chief of Staff, Gen. Luca Goretti has been a protagonist in this challenge for some time. It also falls within this scope the agreement that will be presented in December, in Washington, with Virgin Galactic to carry out a feasibility study on possible transoceanic subtorbital flights with possible take-off and landing in Grottaglie”.
