Malmö took revenge after the one-hundredth drama

Malmö were snubbed in a sudden decision with the smallest possible margin.
But in the penalty shootout, they got up and secured the team’s second straight derby victory.
– We had a little ghost against Rögle at home, but now it exploded, says Carl Persson in TV4.

The derby audience in Malmö Arena got what they paid for when Malmö and Rögle invited a hot and entertaining meeting.

The teams got off to a shocking start with three goals before even five minutes had been played.

Malmö’s Nikola Pasic then accounted for the great delicacy of the match when he scored 2–2 after a Pavel Datsyuk draw in the second period.

Celebrated in the mud

The teams changed goals in the third and forced extra time, where Malmö had a decisive puck in the goal right on the ball.

They thought.

Because on the replays, it turned out that the puck crossed the goal line just a hundredth of a second after the end of the period.

Won on penalties

Penalties instead and there Malmö managed to get up after the disallowed goal and secure the victory after a goal from Carl Persson while Marek Langhammer nailed the home goal again.

The victory was MIF’s second straight against Rögle after a period of dominance from the Ängelholm team.
