Brazilian police have arrested hundreds of suspects in last year’s attacks. At that time, supporters of former president Jair Bolsonaro invaded the area of several administrative buildings in the capital Brasília.
In Argentina, the country’s judiciary has ordered the arrest of 61 Brazilians who attempted a coup d’état in their home country last year, a judicial source tells AFP news agency.
According to the source, extradition requests have been made for the coup attempters and they have been sentenced to prison terms in their home country. The request was made by a judge of the Supreme Court of Brazil.
In October, Argentina changed its legislation, as a result of which persons accused or convicted of crimes in their home country are not entitled to refugee status.
