Hanna Öberg’s tough setback just before the biathlon premiere

When the Swedish biathlon premiere in Idre starts this weekend, it will be without one of the biggest Swedish stars, Hanna Öberg.

Hanna Öberg is ill and therefore misses the weekend’s competitions, which consist of a short distance on Saturday and a sprint on Sunday.

“I’ve been looking forward to starting the season this weekend for a long time, but unfortunately I’ve caught a cold and have to give it up,” she writes on Instagram, and continues:

“Hope to be back on my feet soon and wish everyone competing the best of luck.”

The Swedish premiere is the first time for the season that the biathlon stars can compete against each other on snow, and both Swedish elite and international skiers usually come to the start.

The biathlon season then kicks off in earnest with the World Cup premiere in Kontiolax, Finland, November 30–December 8.

Now we are helping to support Hanna Öberg. Hope to see you on the tracks soon! 💙💛
