Pokémon GO finally gives you more space for Pokémon and items

Have you reached the maximum capacity for monsters and items in Pokémon GO? Then a small update will help.

In Pokémon GO there are now countless Pokémon in many different variants. These include Galar and Hisui forms, Dynamax versions and of course Shinys. If you want to have all Pokémon in all forms and also have battle teams for raids and the battle league, then a lot of Pokémon can quickly come together.

It fits well that the maximum capacities for Pokémon and items are now being increased again, as reported on Reddit.

More space for monsters and items

What is the new maximum capacity? You can increase your Pokémon Bag to a capacity of 8,800 with the latest increase. The new limit for items is 7,800. Both capacities were increased again by 500 places, as was the case several times in the past.

When does the increase start? There is no official announcement from Niantic yet, so a date for a global rollout is not known. In the comments on Reddit there are both trainers who have already activated this update and those who are still waiting for it.

Is that much capacity needed? While most trainers will probably never need such high capacities, there are still trainers who will be happy about the update because they will constantly be at maximum capacity. Especially in view of the big nature zone event at the end of next week, the timing is probably right to increase capacities.

How much is the maximum capacity? If you haven’t purchased any upgrades for your capacities yet and want to reach the maximum limit, you’ll need to plan for some PokéCoins. An upgrade costs 200 PokéCoins each and gives you an increase in capacity of 50 slots.

  • 170 Pokémon Box Upgrades for 34,000 Coins
  • 149 item box upgrades for 29,800 coins
  • This would give you a total of 63,800 coins that you would need for this. If you collect the maximum number of free PokéCoins of 50 coins every day, you would need a total of 1,276 days for the upgrades – around 3.5 years.

If you were to buy the coins you need, it would be quite an expensive undertaking. The largest package of coins in the game costs €119.99 and contains 14,500 coins. So you would need this package 5 times (and then have a larger pile of coins left over), which would cost you a whopping €599.95.

If you wanted to buy as few coins as necessary for this endeavor, you would still end up with a total of €534.93 and would still have 50 coins left at the end. For this you could purchase the following packages:

  • 4x 14,500 coins
  • 1x 5,200 coins
  • 1x 550 coins
  • 1x 100 coins
  • By the way: Without upgrades you have a capacity of 300 Pokémon and 350 items.
