German gamers love simulators and farming. This is also shown by the outstanding success of a new game on Steam.
What game is it about? Farming Simulator 25 (LS for short) is currently the top seller on Steam in Germany and sits above games like Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Throne and Liberty and Warframe (as of November 15, 2024 , 9:00 a.m.).
The game was released on November 12, 2024 and had 126,000 simultaneously active players on Steam just a few hours after its release. A farming simulator on Steam has never been more successful. The previous record of 105,000 players was achieved by its predecessor, Farming Simulator 22.
LS25 is the first new part of the popular simulation series after a 3-year break. LS22’s previous player record was also set shortly after its release in November 2021.

Record despite stumbling reviews
Farming Simulator 25 attracted thousands of players on Steam right after its release, but over 30% of them are not convinced by the quality of the simulation. With over 4,600 reviews, there were around 1,400 negative reviews (via Steam).
What do the players say? On the one hand, Farming Simulator 25 can impress with its graphics, which are said to be a bit nicer compared to its predecessor. On the other hand, however, there is criticism for the game’s performance and the number of bugs.
The variety of playable models is also criticized. The forestry area is also not supposed to be as good as many players would have liked. Another problem is the movements of the character, which look very spongy.
Overall, some players complain that the LS25 should have been a DLC for the LS22 given its current scope. In general, for some people the game seems more like a reskin with sometimes less content. Many players hope for good mod support from the community.
