Season 1 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has started and brought new content to the shooter. On top of that, players were surprised with a bunch of XP tokens.
Where do the tokens come from? On November 14, 2024, Season 1 of Black Ops 6 went live and brought new maps, new modes and weapons into the game. The “Battle Royale” mode Warzone is also now available. On top of that, players received a bunch of double XP tokens. Many of them apparently come from the predecessors of the new CoD part.
On social media, users are currently happy about the many tokens. Many of them note that this makes the grind a lot easier. Because there are different types of tokens, players in different categories benefit from double experience points:
Many people seem to be particularly happy about the faster leveling of the player level. Because with Black Ops 6 the old prestige levels came back to CoD. In the prestige system you level up again and again up to level 55 and then reset your level and thus your unlocked weapons and all perks.
You can find out more about the system in the video:
“The prestige speed run can begin”
What do players say about this? Numerous screenshots appear on Reddit in which players show the tokens they have collected. A user has accumulated over 200 tokens that he can now use in Black Ops 6. For the player level alone, he has around 147 hours in which he gets twice the amount of XP from gaming.
He writes: “The prestige grind just got a lot easier.” (via Reddit). In the comments he explains that the XP tokens appear to have been carried over from Modern Warfare 2 and 3.
In another post on Reddit, users discuss the surprise. Some are expressing concern that it could be a bug. So iceyk111 asks whether the developers could take them away again. “Not adding them on purpose is one thing, but adding them accidentally and then taking them away after everyone is happy about it would be a really bad move,” he notes.
On There, too, users praise the surprising inclusion of the tokens in the new CoD part. Korey writes that this is a big help in reaching Prestige 10. And Spottem writes: “The speedrun for Prestige Master is starting.” Many write that this is a “massive W”, which means something like: a great success.
This is why XP tokens are so important: The XP tokens double the number of experience points you receive while playing in Black Ops 6. It doesn’t matter which mode you play – multiplayer, zombie or Warzone. Especially at the start of a new CoD part, many players are interested in leveling up as quickly as possible. This especially applies to your weapons, so that you can use them in Warzone, for example.
With the prestige system, leveling takes on an even greater role, as the player level is constantly reset – and with it weapons and perks that are unlocked at certain levels.
