McCaul, who describes himself as a “nervous air traveller”, had taken the tablets to be able to sleep on the plane to Texas.
But the mixture with alcohol made him confused and he missed the plane.
The Republican was later found by police and taken into custody pending the arrival of family members to pick him up.

The British newspaper The Guardian is leaving the social platform X.
It is written that the algorithm changes on the platform are one of the reasons for leaving.
The change in the algorithms has, according to the newspaper, led to a greater spread of “extreme right-wing conspiracy theories and racism” on X.
“The advantages of being on X are now fewer than the disadvantages and we believe that our journalism is better promoted by being elsewhere,” writes the newspaper in an article about its exit from the platform.
