Chickowski, who was promoted to inspector in late 2021, is filling the role left vacant by Kirk Earley, who official took on the role of chief of police on June 19.
As deputy chief, Chickowski will oversee the day-to-day operations of all four of the service’s branches, and he will continue to work closely with members, and community partners “to continue advancing our mission of making Chatham-Kent a healthier and safer place for all.”
In congratulating Chickowski on his appointment, the police service said, “We are confident his leadership will positively impact our members, our community and help us meet the challenges of the future.”
Information on a swearing-in ceremony for the new deputy chief will be shared at a later date.
