After the disclosure: The YMCA leaders are reported to the police by the Allmänna arvsfonden

The two associations, Riksorganisationen Hikari and YMCA Infinite, are controlled by two YMCA profiles in Malmö. Over the years, they have worked in various association projects that have received millions of kroner in support from various funds, foundations and authorities.

The projects are mostly aimed at children and young people with disabilities.

In several ongoing projects, financed by the Allmänna arvsfonden, both men are remunerated for, among other things, helping children and young people to better health.

“Here it can be anything”

But when SVT Nyheter Skåne and Uppdrag granskning ask questions about the projects, the heritage fund acts.

– If Task Review gets in touch and requests a number of cases from us, we never ask a reporter what they need it for. But we understand that there could be something here. So then we actually appointed an internal investigation and looked at these projects. It is not ready. It is ongoing, but it has resulted in two police reports that we have filed against two people, says Hans Andersson, head of unit for the heritage fund.

Receipts reveal foreign trips and gadgets

SVT’s review of the associations’ receipts reveals that they spent money on foreign trips, food and gadgets for the associations’ leaders. Now the two leaders are reported to the police for suspected fraud involving their salary income in various ongoing projects, financed by the heritage fund.

– When we check with the Tax Agency, they have declared far, far more than that as income from service. And then we ask questions about how it comes about and then we have not received an answer. Then we don’t come any further but hand the matter over to the police, says Hans Andersson.

What is it then that you suspect they have done?

– I leave it to the police, but either you have not worked as much as you should have done in the project and worked on other things and then received this income, or you have worked exactly as much as you should have been paid from elsewhere also the same hours. We can’t get it together. I don’t want to speculate, but that’s pretty much how we put it to the police.

The leaders have given their explanations to the heritage fund, among other things the Hikari leader writes that he chose to work more than 100 percent.
