The strikers, numbering 50 Jordanians, affirmed their intention to continue the hunger strike despite the deterioration in the state of health of certain participants. They consider this approach essential, as expressed by Fawaz Al-Ali, one of the young strikers:
“ We participated in this campaign because we believe we have many ways to pressure our Jordanian government to take action against the occupation, such as canceling trade agreements or even allowing the entry of trucks in the Gaza Strip. »

Among the other young people, Lujain Al-Far, asked the Jordanian government to send humanitarian aid to Gaza despite all the blockades carried out by Israel. They also called on more Jordanians to join their strike to step up international pressure.
“ We will continue, insha’Allah, our hunger strike, even if it becomes a little difficult, until all our demands are met. »
The strike began on Friday, November 1, when young men and women gathered near the US Embassy in Amman in a march, announcing the launch of their hunger strike. They took part in a demonstration raising slogans calling for freedom for Gaza and planned to meet in front of the UN headquarters in Amman next Sunday, November 17.
