USA October inflation meets expectations rises to 26 on year

(Finance) – Theinflation in the United States met analysts’ expectations October 2024. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), consumer prices increased by 0.2% on a monthly basislike the previous month and also equal to the +0.2% expected by analysts.

The index foraccommodation rose 0.4% in October, accounting for more than half of the monthly increase for all items. Even the index food increased during the month, rising by 0.2%, while the index of food at home increased by 0.1% and the eating out index increased by 0.2%. The index energetic it remained unchanged over the month, after falling 1.9% in September.

On an annual basisinflation growth was 2.6%, up from 2.4% in the previous month, and equal to the consensus 2.4%.

The “core” ratei.e. the consumer price index adjusted for the most volatile components such as food and energy, most closely observed by the Fed, recorded an increase of 0.3% on a monthly basis, (+0.3% estimated by the market) in line with the change from the previous month. The trend growth stands at +3.3%, equal to the consensus and the value recorded in September.
