Just over 7,700 inhabitants live in the small town of Olofström in Blekinge. One of them is Johanna Mandelberg Petersson33. Just like a million other Swedes, she is in the Postcode lottery.
Johanna would end membership in the Postal Code Lottery
At the end of October, just a few weeks ago, she considered ending her membership of the Postcode Lottery. On the Threads platform, Johanna wrote:
“I’m stubborn as hell about keeping my postcode lottery ticket and then I’ve never won anything big but only those ‘you choose the win’ products. So now I’m wondering how many of you have actually won something really good? Is it cars or is it millions?? What have you lucky damn winners won??”, she wrote.

The answers quickly trickled in, and several people testified about how they or people they know both brought home the big win but also smaller wins such as kitchen towels.
Johanna herself said that she had won a pair of earrings and a newspaper subscription, but that she didn’t really dare to cancel the lottery because then the Granny would surely come to her area…
And yes, it almost turned out that way.

On Threads, Johanna wrote an update that probably made one or another in the cabins put their coffee down their throats. Because last Wednesday, i.e. November 6, Johanna’s partner got Emil a phone call that would change everything, something that Blekinge Läns Tidning was the first to report.
“Hey everyone, here’s an update called duga! Wrote a while ago that I’m adamant about not canceling my postcode lottery…can only thank the gods I didn’t. Today the whole gang was with film cameras and everything in my hall. I was completely unaware of this and that my partner even managed to keep this a secret. So what do you do with 20,000 kroner a week for a whole year?”.

For BLT, Johanna talks about how the TV team and partner Emil had planned the “coup” where they would surprise her with the incredible news. On a completely normal Monday in November, Johanna came home to the house after a day at work as an alarm technician.
But in the hall she was not met by her partner – but by the former footballer Jesper Blomqvist, wearing the characteristic red Postcode Lottery jacket. Jesper gave Johanna the gold envelope – and Johanna got the shock of her life when she opened it.

SEK 20,000 a week, taxed and ready – over a year, the sum amounts to a whopping SEK 1,040,000.
– I can’t understand that it’s true, it will take a long time to melt, says Johanna Mandelberg Petersson BLT.
Johanna will invest some of the money in her company, but then a trip to Mexico awaits.
