This economic forum is based on the Makutano network, the first business network in Central Africa, and will welcome more than a hundred business leaders, politicians including members of the government, but also leaders from the continent. A speech by President Félix Tshisekedi is also expected for the opening day this Wednesday, November 13.

THE Mak 10the tenth edition of Makutano, is an extended hand to all those who truly love Africa, according to Yves Kabongo, Congolese businessman and one of its founders: “ Well Africa, already, I cannot bring a project that would cause our environmental system to be completely damaged. That already means loving Africa. Loving Africa means ensuring that when I create jobs, that they are good quality jobs and that we can have investment structures and businesses that are sustainable. That’s loving Africa. Not just loving money. We all love money, but at some point you also have to put people around “.

Health at the heart of discussions

The speakers will debate around several themes such as energy, the mining industry, finance, new technologies, but also health. An area dear to Serge Hollen, doctor, former Deputy Minister of Health of the DRC. “ When we talk about health, people only see the Ministry of Health, but in fact, it is a complex subject, which involves all the other actors who contribute to the determinant of health. An event like this precisely has the advantage of putting on the same tables the different actors in the health sector, the economic sector, and Makutano, as a unifying event, but also a moment of awareness . As I say, the first thing, even to develop, is to become aware of your state and to want to improve. »

But this is not enough, recalls Serge Hollen, one event during the year will not radically change things. For him, we need more training and more exchanges between the different actors of economic development.
