Arcane Season 2, like the first season, is full of hidden details and Easter eggs that can be seen in the background. We introduce you to 5 hidden details that you can only understand as a fan of League of Legends.
Spoiler alert: The following article discusses events from the first 3 episodes of Arcane Season 2.
Arcane is a series that can be enjoyed even by people who have never played League of Legends. This is due to the focused story and well-developed characters. But fans of League of Legends can discover some details.
This includes the black rose, which we have explained in detail in another article. If you are familiar with Summoner’s Rift, you will recognize details that you know from the game. We’ll show you which ones we discovered in the first three episodes of season 2.
A trailer for Arcane Season 2:
1. The ominous Jungle makes it into the series
The Jungle is a controversial role in League of Legends that should only be played by mentally strong people. But friends of the jungle will recognize a familiar monster. At the end of the first episode of the new season, we see Singed in a snow-covered forest.
There he uses his gas to catch a two-headed wolf, which he later uses for experiments. You can see this wolf in every round of LoL. He is on the same side as the blue buff and is a so-called jungle camp. He is accompanied by two little wolves that you as a jungler have to kill in order to get gold and experience.
Another jungle monster is also mentioned. In the English original, Heimerdinger speaks of the Bramblebacks. That’s the name for the red buff.
2. Items from the game in the series
The most important tool for building in the various LoL matches are the items. You buy them not only to become stronger and defeat your opponents, but also to defend yourself. Ambessa and her soldiers also do this, as can be seen in the third episode of Arcane Season 2.
While Ambessa is being visited by Amara, Ambessa’s right hand is seen placing runes on an axe. These runes are the relatively new item Kaenic Rookern. The item was not selected randomly. It is a strong magic resistance item that can protect you from magical damage with a shield.
Ambessa needs that too, because her enemy is the Black Rose, who specializes in magic. The power of this magic can be clearly seen in the third episode.
One could also assume that the chainsaw used by the Zaun fighter in episode 1 would be the Chempunk Chainsword item. The green icon in the game at least reminds you of that. The masks of the big Zaun opponents are also reminiscent of an item: Turbo Chemtank. The item was particularly in demand for large tanks.
3. Did Caitlyn miss or not?
One of the biggest points of debate is whether Caitlyn Jinx missed in episode 3 or whether Vi blocked the shot. In episode 1 and the previous season you can see Caitlyn’s excellent precision. It hits the smallest targets from long distances. She stays calm and hits perfectly even in hectic combat.
This is also reflected in her ultimate. She crouches briefly and her shot is guaranteed to hit a target. The only way to block this is if someone intervenes. In the finale of the third episode, Vi blocks the shot at Jinx.
But in the details you can see that she basically didn’t use her ultimate. As @skyllianhamster explains on x.com, you can see that Caitlyn is not focused. Unlike in the Ultimate animation, she doesn’t prepare herself.
A clip of the passage, very much yours here:
If you look at the scope, you can see how Caitlyn could have hit Jinx. Because Vi doesn’t block the shot with one movement, Caitlyn accidentally hit Vi.
But one can assume that Caitlyn, in her anger and her change of character, wanted to meet Jinx and the child.
4. Janna’s ultimate saved miners
The Champion Janna is a popular support in League of Legends who is primarily dedicated to healing and saving. Janna is also one of the 2 hidden champions in Season 2. In the 3rd episode, Jinx mentions a myth about the goddess Janna, who saved miners from death.
Her ultimate fits perfectly with this. She uses it to create a large gust of wind that knocks enemies away and heals allies. She can provide control in a hectic team fight.
If you assume that the workers in the myth ran out of air because they were buried, then Jana’s throwing away enemies fits in perfectly, because such an ability could also reveal mines.
5. Heimerdinger’s hated towers
Heimerdinger is one of Arcane’s funniest supporting characters and a true veteran of League of Legends. The brilliant scientist is best known for his annoying towers, which are difficult to overcome in the game.
One of these towers can also be found in the second episode of Arcane Season 2. When Heimerdinger and Ekko are talking down at the sacred tree in Zaun, you see an invention that the children are playing with. This is Heimerdinger’s tower, only this time it is available in a peaceful version with soap bubbles.
Have you discovered any details that we haven’t listed here? Then feel free to write us in the comments. You don’t have to wait long for the next 3 episodes. There will be 3 more episodes on Saturday and probably again with lots of Easter eggs. The level of detail in the series took a lot of time, but the dialogue was also complex: The showrunner of Arcane tells how long he worked on just the last sentence of season 2 and that shows how high the demands are on the series
