In the Levi World Cup slalom, the women will race on Saturday, November 16, and the men on Sunday, the 17th.
Based on the qualifying competition of the alpine skiing national team, men from the C national team can also qualify for the start of Levi Jesperi Kemppainen, Erik Saravuo mixed Turo Torvinen.
The Finnish men’s competition team had already been named before Eduard Hallberg, Jesper Pohjolainen and Salomo Sirviö.
Rovaniemeläinen Kemppainen, 20, is excited before his first career World Cup start.
– It’s really nice to finish my first World Cup race and in front of the home crowd. I believe that the situation can even be a small advantage for us Finns, because the slope is very familiar to us.
Also for Erik Saravuo, 21, from Espoo, the race is the first World Cup competition of his career.
– It’s pointless to take too much pressure of any kind from the race. I’m going to calculate a good bill, and then we’ll see what it’s enough for.
Turo Torvinen, 24, from Rovaniemi, gets to ski on a very familiar slope.
– It’s great to be able to compete with Levi after a break of a few years. The conditions have been full of concrete, i.e. excellent. All you have to do is get on the board and enjoy the moment, said Torvinen.
In the women’s competition on Saturday, the Finns already selected will participate Rosa Pohjolainen, Silja Koskinen, Nella Korpio, Aada Kanto and Erika Pykäläinen.
