Floorball: Shooting king Alexander Galante Carlström is pushed to the home World Cup – ends his national team career

Alexander Galante Carlström has won three WC golds with Sweden’s national floorball team.

But during the year he has not been selected for the latest national team camps and during a lunch with coach Thomas Brottman he was informed that he will not get a place in the WC squad.

Which The Falu Courier was the first to report on.

– Somewhere it was understood that I wouldn’t be there, but hope is the last thing that abandons you, says Galante Carlström.

“Few have those merits”

The reason he was given was that the national team coaches believe that there are other players who are “hotter right now”.

– If I had made the squad, I would have been there. There are few who have the track record in big matches that I have, and I know I can still decide big matches.

What are they missing out on by not taking you out?

– If I play in a WC, I often play a major role and what I could add is what I do best, scoring goals.

Cocky answer

How many goals would you have scored if you were involved?

– Probably the most.

With the poke, Alexander Galante Carlström has done his part in the yellow-blue suit. He will not bet for the next WC.

– It feels a bit sad, of course, but all good fairy tales have an end.
