Mona Brorsson is a new expert in SVT’s “Winter studio”.
Now she is forced to judge and criticize her friends in the national biathlon team, something that can be difficult for her.
– I think it will be her challenge for Mona as a very positive person, says Elvira Öberg to Sportbladet.
After twelve seasons with WC, Olympics and World Cup competitions, the biathlete thought Mona Brorsson34, that it was enough. Shortly after she put the gun on the shelf, she was, unsurprisingly, asked by SVT if she wanted to replace Helena Ekholm as a new expert in the “Winter studio”.
Mona has moved to Stockholm
Now Mona and her partner have Gustav Larsson moved from Östersund to try life in Stockholm.
– Right now we have a very temporary solution and live in an apartment hotel, but are obviously looking for something. Actually, it is Gustav, the partner, who has got a job. It’s not primarily for the “Winter studio”, although it makes things a lot easier, she told NWT about the move.

Most of the national biathlon team think that SVT did the right thing by recruiting Brorsson. Elvira Öberg, 25, believes that the Värmland native can contribute with something like, for example Bjorn Ferry can’t – since she quit so recently, she has up-to-date information on all riders.
– It will be exciting, it will be fun to have someone who is well-updated about what the circus looks like right now, what we are working on and what the focal points are. She knows us extremely well, knows what strengths and challenges we have and I think she can give the viewers a new image that hasn’t really existed before, so it will be fun to see how it is received, says Elvira to Sportbladet.
However, there is one thing that can be a little difficult for Mona Brorsson. The national team skaters testify that Mona Brorsson is possibly too kind and will have a hard time being critical in the studio when needed.
– I think it will be her challenge for Mona as a person is very positive and is good at lifting the positive as well, but she will be forced to do that as well. I think that even though Mona has signed a contract with SVT, I think she has a hard time letting go of her loyalty to us. She won’t reveal all our secrets, says Elvira Öberg.

Sebastian Samuelsson27, hopes that Brorsson will dare to press a little in the broadcasts and actually say that the Swedes are cash if they deserve it.
– I hope so, I hope she takes it hard. I think that’s the way it should be, you absolutely have to be able to criticize, then there has to be a balance. We are not elected city councilors, so we should not have to be held accountable for such things, but it is clear that you can assess performance, he says.
