Ipswich Town won their first game in the Premier League

Newcastle snapped Nottingham Forest’s three-game winning streak, and Manchester United beat Leicester in clear fashion.

Promoted Ipswich Town won their first Premier League game in over 22 years when they beat Tottenham 2-1 away from home. The last time the club celebrated a victory in the English Premier League was in April 2002.

Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap took Ipswich to a 2–0 halftime lead. Tottenham came again by Rodrigo Bentancur hitting the back of the goal just after 70 minutes, but was unable to equalize.

Ipswich, who were second last in the league before the Tottenham game, pushed themselves above the relegation line to 17th place with their victory.

– This really means a lot. We have had a lot of good performances, which have been missing the finishing touches. We played great. It’s really hard to come here to play. We couldn’t be happier, Delap glowed.

The fluctuating Tottenham is in tenth place. The team’s players walked off the field to the cheers of the fans.

Newcastle and ManU to wins
