What else happened? NCSoft is probably in crisis. After unconfirmed reports of planned restructuring and layoffs, the major MMORPG studio this week provided a possible reason for these drastic measures: Despite the new expansion for Guild Wars 2 and Throne and Liberty, they are making losses in the millions.

The developers of Final Fantasy XIV have released the preliminary details for Patch 7.1. Where? Of course on the official Lodestone (via finalfantasyxiv.com).
News from classic WoW: The Firelands raid went live in Cataclysm Classic this week, with adjustments (via worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com). The second home of Ragnaros is one of the most popular raids in WoW history.
It is also clear that Phase 6 of the Season of Discovery will begin on November 21, 2024, with preparations for the opening of Ahn’Qiraj (via worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com).
And again WoW Classic: In the Season of Discovery you can face the dragons of the nightmare – Emeriss, Lethon, Taerrar and Ysondre – in a single player instance in the Nightmare Grove. You enter the Nightmare Grove from the Forests of the Emerald Dream and can then teleport to each boss in turn (via worldofwarcraft.blizzard.com).
A survey on MeinMMO found that three out of four players primarily experience WoW solo.
The planned respec for WoW professions will probably not come with patch 11.0.7.
One type of tank is currently extremely unpopular in WoW and is threatened with extinction.
A WoW player worked for 8 years to achieve success and secured a mount that only a few people have. Another uses Hallow’s Eve to level up to level 74 via trick-treating content. And yet another defeated a current raid boss in Heroic, solo.

With Haven & Hearth, a small free2play MMORPG has launched on Steam that clearly focuses on crafting, construction projects, landscaping, foraging, hunting, fishing, poetry and PvP battles.
Patch 2.1.9.2 has been released for Mortal Online II, with ranked duels, spider mount and the option to surrender. You can find the official patch notes on mortalonline2.com.
On November 12, 2024, Star Trek Online will bring a popular Borg-themed event to consoles. You can find out more about this at playstartrekonline.com.
The MMORPG Dofus will switch to the Unity engine on December 3, 2024 and make it a big event. Anyone who would like to discover the game on the new servers can pre-register via dofus.com – which an impressive 38,238 interested parties have already done.

Publisher Kakao Games is adjusting the release periods for ArcheAge Chronicles and Chrono Odyssey. The successor to ArcheAge will not be released until 2026 at the earliest. Chrono Odyssey is scheduled for Q4 2025.
The creative director of the MMORPG Ashes of Creation transformed into a raid boss during an Alpha 2 weekend, hunting down an ex-Blizzard developer and summoning ducklings. You can find the whole story here.
Ashes of Creation again: For the start of the next Alpha 2 phase, in which buyers of the first wave bundle are allowed on the servers for the first time, the developers are providing two new servers. All information can be found at ashesofcreation.com.
The head of Riot Games gave an update on the MMORPG League of Legends at the Worlds Finals.
The comprehensive Proving Grounds update went live for the early access version of Pax Dei this week, which partially resets the progress made so far. You can find all information about this as well as the patch notes on playpaxdei.com.
Brighter Shores, the new MMORPG from RuneScape creator Andrew Gower, has started early access on Steam. The approximately 2,920 reviews so far have only received a “balanced” rating, with 65 percent positive ratings.
At G-Star 2024 in Korea, Ragnarok 3, the successor to Ragnarok Online (15th best MMORPG of all time, according to the MeinMMO community), will probably be announced (via daikama.com). The event runs from November 14th to 17th, 2024.
