After going 0-3 in head-to-head meetings, Möregårdh was able to tear down that wall against the world number five.
– I had to believe in it, I had a tough time against the Lebrun brothers so it was a kind of revenge to beat one of them. I played a great match and had to do it because Felix is insanely good, eleventh-ranked Möregårdh said after the match.
Möregårdh won the first two sets and had the Frenchman rocking hard. But after Lebrun took the third, it became a nail-biter if the Swede would be able to tie the knot and take his first victory against the 18-year-old from Montpellier.
“Crazy how well we know each other”
He did, walking away with 11-3, 11-6, 5-11, 13-11 and another win under his belt after deciding on his third match point after saving a set point. Now Anton Källberg awaits in a red-hot semi-final, the first time a Swede plays at that level in a WTT tournament. Now a Swede also goes to the final.
– I hope it will be me, but I know each other inside and out so it will be tough, crazy how well we know each other, predicts Möregårdh, who made Viktor Gyökere’s mask gesture after the match.
– I don’t have a victory gesture, but I might have to figure someone out tomorrow if it comes up, says Källberg.

Injury interruption in the quarter
Källberg met 60-ranked Ricardo Walter earlier in the evening.
Despite Walter being forced to take a medical timeout in the second set, four sets were also needed for Källberg to reach the semis.
– It became more difficult for him to play and it changed the rhythm of the match, but I tried to stay focused, said 27th-ranked Källberg after the match.
Källberg finally won the match 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 11-4.
