Beyoncé is nominated for the first time in the country and Americana music categories.
American superstar Beyonce has passed his spouse Jay-Zin the number of Grammy nominations in the music industry. Beyoncé leads this year’s competition with a total of 11 nominations, including nominations for best album, best country album and song of the year for her song Texas Hold ‘Em.
Beyoncé and rapper Jay-Z each have 88 Grammy Award nominations to date, but Beyoncé has now jumped ahead thanks to her latest album, Cowboy Carter.
This is the first time Beyoncé has been nominated in the country and Americana music categories.
If Beyoncé takes home the Album of the Year Grammy, she will become the first black woman to win the award in the 2000s.
Vocalist Lauryn Hill was awarded the Grammy for Best Album in 1999 for his album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Also Natalie Cole and Whitney Houston have won the best album Grammy as black women.
