Daniel Craig is asked to choose the next James Bond star and he has the best answer

Daniel Craig is asked to choose the next James Bond

Developments surrounding the next James Bond film are progressing slowly. Even though various names are constantly being discussed for Daniel Craig’s successor, a choice has not yet been officially announced.

Now the previous 007 star has taken after Craig himself his preferred candidate for the iconic part asked. The answer couldn’t be more reflective of his disinterest.

Daniel Craig no longer cares about James Bond franchise

The star gave an interview with actor Drew Starkey for Variety on the occasion of their new film Queer. Craig was of course asked about the future of the Agents series. When asked who he thought would be the next Bond actor, he simply replied:

I don’t care.

Since he said goodbye to the franchise with No Time to Die, Craig openly disinterested in the further course of the series. Even during his active time as Bond, the actor polarized people with his interview statements. His famous comment at the start of Specter was that he would rather cut his wrists than play Bond again. At that time he only wanted to continue because of the money.

When should the next Bond film be released in cinemas?

Since no Daniel Craig successor has yet been determined for the role, the theatrical release for the next part is far in the future. Just last year, producer Barbara Broccoli said the search hadn’t even begun yet. Most recently, stars like Kick-Ass actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson as top favorites for the part.

But you shouldn’t expect a new James Bond film to be released before 2026. You can see Daniel Craig again on the big screen from January 2, 2025. Then Queer by Challengers director Luca Guadagnino, probably the ex-007’s nastiest film, starts in the cinema.
