SNCF strike a mobilization planned for Thursday November 21 what

SNCF STRIKE. All unions are calling for a transport strike on Thursday November 21, 2024, citing an ultimatum before a longer movement. What traffic disruptions should we expect?

[Mis à jour le 7 novembre 2024 à 15h26] the CGT-Cheminots, the Unsa-Ferroviaire, Sud-Rail and the CFDT-Cheminots, i.e. all the SNCF unions in their entirety, filed a strike notice on Thursday, November 21, 2024 to denounce the “creeping privatization” of the railway company and “the liquidation of Fret SNCF”, evoking “massive job cuts” and “the deterioration of working conditions work”, following a meeting with management to discuss opening up to competition.

In their press release entitled “It is time for conflict at the SNCF”, the unions already warn that this 24-hour strike day at the SNCF will be “an ultimatum” before “a longer and stronger strike movement in December” if their demands are not heard. Will the Christmas holiday period be affected? Users of main lines (TGV, Intercités), medium lines (TER) as well as smaller lines on the Île-de-France network (Transilien and RER managed by SNCF) will have to expect significant disruptions but we don’t know yet for how long. For now, traffic will return to normal on Friday at 8 a.m. Detailed disruptions have not yet been announced, and you will be the first to know on this page.

How do I know if my train is canceled due to the SNCF strike?

Canceled TGV and Intercités travelers receive information via e-mail or SMS between 24 and 48 hours in advance (provided they have provided their contact details when booking). On the other hand, TER users without connections do not receive SMS messages. It is advisable to verify the information by providing train number the day before and just before departure on the SNCF site.

Where to follow SNCF traffic forecasts?
