Ridley Scott thinks Tarantinos career plan is complete nonsense

Anyone who loves their job will never work a day in their life. This truism may often be nonsense, but it seems to apply to Quentin Tarantino: film is his passion. It’s hard to believe that after his tenth film he never wants to direct again. His colleague Ridley Scott doesn’t believe it at all.

Ridley Scott thinks Tarantino’s alleged career plan is nonsense

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter this week, Scott explained Tarantino’s planned career end:

I don’t believe this nonsense. shut your mouth and don’t make a film yet.

Scott also states that Tarantino “a few things” for his brother Tony Scott, who died in 2012 (and probably means True Romance). He admits that he is not sure whether he and the Pulp Fiction maker ever met.

Scott shares the attitude of many film enthusiasts with his distrust, but at the same time expresses his own work ethic. He explains elsewhere in the interview that he will make films until he dies.Clint [Eastwood] is 92 [und macht mit Juror 2 vielleicht seinen letzten Film]. I’m 86, so I still have a few to go.

Time will tell whether he is right in his colleague’s assessment. After the failure of his film project The Movie Critic Tarantino wants to work on a play first. Scott, on the other hand, will bring his 29th feature-length directorial work to the screen with Gladiator 2 on November 14, 2024. Gladiator 3 is apparently only a matter of time.
