15-year-old tried to run over police in Luleå – the parents have to pay

It was on September 7 that a policeman was supposed to stop the young driver. But instead of stopping, the 15-year-old tried to run over the police and a patrol immediately started a pursuit.

The youth later tried to push the police car off the road and it finally took a mat of nails to stop the vehicle.

Convicted of four different crimes

It turned out that the boy was drunk and he was charged with several crimes. In questioning, he himself stated that he panicked when he saw the blue lights because he did not want to be caught for drunk driving.

He also admits that he drove carelessly when the speed was 100 km/h and now the Luleå district court has handed down its verdict.

The boy is convicted of attempted violence against an official, gross negligence in traffic, illegal driving and drunk driving.

The parents have to pay

The penalty will be youth care, where the 15-year-old must follow the social welfare board’s youth contract.

He is also sentenced to pay SEK 10,000 in damages to the police officer who was nearly run over. He must pay that bill jointly with the parents.
