Police respond to stabbing Sarnia police briefs

A 31-year-old from Sarnia has been arrested after a 25-year-old man from Sarnia was taken to hospital with stab wounds to the leg, back, abdomen and hand, police said.

The victim’s injuries, sustained during an incident in the area of ​​Kathleen Avenue and Indian Road on Nov. 3 around 3:45 am, are not considered life threatening, police said. The victim and the accused know each other, police said.

Keegan Myrtle, 31, of Sarnia, is charged with aggravated assault, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, and weapons dangerous to the public peace, police said.

Crash damages home

A crash early Sunday morning in Sarnia’s Wiltshire subdivision pushed a vehicle through a home’s garage, police say.

A pickup truck collided with a vehicle parked in a driveway on Winchester Crescent about 1:37 am, forcing it into the home’s garage, police said.

A person attempting to get out the truck’s passenger door showed signs of impairment, police said, adding there were beverage containers in clear view on the vehicle’s floor.

There were no injuries, police said, but the homeowners had to leave while the structural integrity of the residence was assessed.

A 41-year-old Sarnia man faces impaired and dangerous driving charges, police said.

Cops for Cans happening Nov. 16

Sarnia police will be collecting non-perishable food donations for the Inn of the Good Shepherd Nov. 16 in Sarnia.

Officers will be collecting from 10 am to 3 pm outside Walmart on Quinn Drive, No Frills on Exmouth Street, the Real Canadian Superstore on Murphy Road, and Bright’s Grove Foodland off Lakeshore Road, police said.

The drive in 2023 brought in nearly 5,360 kilograms of food for the Inn of the Good Shepherd, helping stock shelves for the upcoming holiday season, police said.
