William Nylander got to see the puck cross the goal line again last night.
Now she has scored ten goals so far this season and that makes him lead the entire NHL shooting league.
“I know nothing about luck, only that the more I practice, the luckier I am”. The words belong to the legend Ingemar Stenmark. But they apply to William Nylander also. In the match against the Boston Bruins, his pass managed to be directed into the goal by the opponent Brandon Carloeven though it wasn’t even targeted.

Nylander had a goal and an assist in the 4-0 win against Boston. His Toronto is now second in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Bruins are fourth. Not only is “Lill-Nyllet” the team’s best scorer with ten goals scored so far, he is actually the NHL’s best scorer.

Sam Reinhart (Florida), Nikita Kucherov (Tampa Bay), Nico Hischier (New Jersey) and Cole Caufield (Montreal) has also scored 10 goals this year, but no player has scored more. So Nylander is tied for first.

Despite the success on the goal front, William Nylander is only second in Toronto’s internal scoring at the time Mitch Marner scored 16 points, one point more than Nylander. In addition, he is only 24th in the league in total points in the NHL.

In the match against Boston, Toronto was missing its big star Austin Matthews. It made the other players pull a bigger load.
– I think it made many others take more responsibility and lift themselves when they got more ice time and a bigger role, says Nylander.
– He is Willy, quite simply. He scores goals and is a dynamic player, to whom the puck finds its way. But it is not only offensively that he is good, praises the coach Craig Berube.
