Motorists will notice new signage on a number of roads in Norfolk County indicating new speed limits.

The Norfolk Road Safety Committee reviews and discusses requests by residents to make alterations to speed limits as part of the county’s aim to enhance road safety and ensure a consistent driving experience for both residents and visitors, said a release from the county.
All streets in Long Point will have a posted 40 km/h speed limit while Erie Boulevard will see the limit increase to 50 km/h during the off-season that runs from Labor Day to the Victoria Day long weekend. The speed limit on the Long Point Causeway will remain at 50 km/h.
The speed limit on Villa Nova Road in Bealton will be 60 m/h from Norfolk County Road 19 to 400 meters south of that point.
Cockshutt Road at Bills Corners will see the speed limit set at 60 km/h between 400 meters north of, and 500 meters south of Concession 6 Townsend.

Ireland Road will be 60 km/h from Lynn Valley Road to St. John’s Road.
Main Street in Rockford from 260 meters north of, and 800 meters south of Concession 11 Townsend will have a speed limit of 60 km/h.
Mill Pond Road in Vittoria will have a limit of 60 km/h from Vittoria Road to 1,600 meters south.
McDowell Road at Bill’s Corners will have a 60 km/h limit from 350 meters west of Charlotteville East ¼ Line Road to 250 meters east of Bill’s Corners Road.
Norfolk Highway 59m South Middleton will see the speed limit set at 60 km/h from 150 meters north of 3rd Concession STR to 400 meters south of Middleton-North Walsingham Townline Road.
The speed limit changes go into effect once new signage is in place.
