Almost a week after the release of Black Ops 6, the first players have reached Prestige Master, but Activision has probably not chosen the fastest team as the winner of the official race.
What kind of race was that? In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 there was the so-called “Race to Prestige”. This was a race streamed live on Twitch in which the participating teams tried to be the first to reach the Prestige Masters rank. The race was therefore tied to the Black Ops 6 level system.
To achieve this, the players on the participating teams took turns playing the latest Call of Duty for days. However, when the winner was crowned, there was criticism from the community: Activision did choose a winner, but the fastest team was not invited to the race and therefore did not receive a prize despite their success.
The fastest team, but not the winner
What is the “real winner” all about? On October 31st, the race ended and Activision ceremoniously announced the winner: “Pits Team”. “Doom” and “Hard Stuck Iridescent” followed in second and third place
However, the Call of Duty community was not satisfied with the winner, because there was probably a team that was faster: the team of the French Twitch streamer Punkill. According to their own information, at the end of the race they were 2 levels ahead of the winners “Pits Team” (via X.com).
However, the Punkill team was not invited to the “Race to Prestige” by Activision and was therefore excluded from the official rankings.
The team from the e-sports organization OpTic, which also included CoD legend Scump, did not take part in the official race, but celebrated achieving Prestige Master shortly before the winner was announced (via X.com)
How do you become a Prestige Master? In Black Ops 6 you can climb 55 levels and unlock various weapons and equipment along the way. After these 55 levels you can move on to the “Prestige 1” rank. But if you are Prestige 1, your level is reset and you have to unlock the weapons you earned again.
In Prestige 1 you can then complete 55 levels again and then reach “Prestige 2”. This will reset your progress once again. This principle can be repeated several times. There are 10 prestige levels in total. After level 10 you will reach the rank of Prestige Master. To date you have to achieve over 500 levels.
