According to the minister, this subsidiary of the Russian space agency Roscosmos will provide three types of satellite. One for communication, the second for remote sensing and the last will serve as radar “ for defense and security “.

The manufacturing of the equipment will be done in Russia and will take four years. But immediately, the company is committed to renting similar equipment in Niamey, reports Nigerien public radio.

Before this signing in Niamey, Glavkosmos had already concluded a memorandum of understanding in Bamako with members of the AESaccording to the newspaper Opinion. Last month, the French media claimed that the Russian company would now provide satellite images to the three Sahel countries. An agreement which followed the jihadist attacks which occurred in Bamako in mid-September and which caused dozens of deaths.
