Dragon Age: The Veilguard, like so many other games, has mod support that allows you to customize and change various aspects. We’ll show you how to install the mods.
Are mods even possible? Yes, you can use mods in The Veilguard. This makes it possible to change the game world, characters and much more – similar to other major role-playing games such as Baldur’s Gate 3.
Many players are currently looking for mods to adjust small details in the game. Some people want a much darker Dragon Age and don’t like the colorful Disney look.
The Veilguard was released on October 31, 2024 and the number of mods is constantly growing. We’ll show you how to install it.
Install mods – Here’s how
How do you install the mods? The first port of call for mod fans is Nexus Mods. On The Veilguard’s newly created page you can see at a glance what’s currently available.
Depending on the mod, the installation looks slightly different. Some mods can be easily selected and downloaded on the site. Additionally, get the Vortex Mod Manager on Nexus Mods and the installation should go smoothly. You can then switch the mod on and off at any time in the manager. If crashes occur, you can easily determine which mod is responsible.
Others, however, are installed manually. Here you usually have to download a zip file and follow the instructions provided on Nexus Mods or in the Readme. In most cases, the individual steps are clear to understand.
You have to proceed differently for save files that are shared on Nexus Mods. These are fan-built characters that can be loaded directly at the start of the game. After downloading, you have to save the save file in the following path on your drive:
All your saves are stored there.
What mods are currently available? Just a few days after release, characters created by fans dominate the field. Regardless of whether it’s popular characters like Link from The Legend of Zelda, or other pretty examples from the editor – the first examples are impressive. At MeinMMO we have some tips for you that you can use to make your own character look less angular, even without mods.
The most popular mod, however, is one that improves performance on the PC and is intended to ensure a smoother gaming experience. Numerous other mods will certainly be added in the next few days and weeks. For further tips on the game, please visit MeinMMO: Dragon Age: The Veilguard – All Guides
