CROSS RIDING Belgian Thibau Nys has won the European cyclo-cross title in Pontevedra, Spain. Nys (21) drove away from the Spanish surprise Felipe Orts Lloret in the final phase, who just secured silver. Belgian Eli Iserbyt came third, Woudenberger Lars van der Haar fifth. Nys is the successor to Belgian Michael Vanthourenhout, who won the European title the past two years. (Sunday November 3)
