Timrå goes on national team break with wind in its sails.
The team beat Örebro – and now have a holiday for eight days.
– We recommend that they go somewhere where they can get some vitamin D, says TIK coach Olli Jokinen.
The away meeting with Örebro ended 3–2 to Timrå after goals from Jonathan Dahlén, Emil Pettersson and Viggo Gustafsson.
It was already clear that the team would have the day off during the national team break.
Head coach Olli Jokinen gave the players freedom with responsibility during his coaching seasons in Finland with great success, and tells TV4 that it is important to him that the players get time to disconnect from hockey.
– We will not train with the team. The players get eight days off with a program to follow, but we don’t care where they do it. We recommend that they go somewhere warm so they get some vitamin D, he says.
– The head is the most important thing in this sport and it must be rested. These players have been around since May when we started.
Drops off at Arlanda
He further says that several players will not accompany him home to Medelpad.
– We will stay at Arlanda and some will go to get vitamin D in Europe and it is completely calm for us.
Timrå meets HV71 on November 14.
Örebro has Rögle on the schedule.
