What is Forbidden Kingdom about? The young American Jason (Michael Angarano) is a passionate lover of martial arts, sword and kung fu fighting. The fanboy could never have imagined that a golden rod would suddenly send the nerd on a journey through time to ancient China. Here he joins forces with a group of fighters to free the captured Monkey King and save him from the evil Jade Emperor. But are the constantly drunk Lu Yan (Jackie Chan) and the Silent Monk (Jet Li) the most suitable companions?
After Jet Li demonstrated his fighting talent as a serious avenger and Jackie Chan demonstrated his comedic action flair in numerous films, Forbidden Kingdom was the first story they brought together for the first time in the cinema and live out their respective martial arts brands let. The legendary action choreographer Yuen Woo-ping also contributed to this.
According to eCentral, the two stars were still surprised at how well their fighting styles complemented each other and how quickly they came together. “I haven’t worked with anyone for ten years Movements, rhythm and natural reactions I felt so at home”Jackie Chan revealed about working with Jet Li.
