– It was a very tough match and we didn’t exactly have the best start with technical errors and missed chances, then it looks like this. We tightened up and got a good result seven against six and can change a little more players than them at the end, says Skuru’s seven-goal scorer Alexandra Bjärrenholt to Handbollsligan Live.
Several times in the first half, visiting team Kungälv, a winner this fall, led with six goals, but Skuru went to the break with a four-goal deficit 12-16.
In the second half, the revolving doors were closed in the defense and quite quickly they ate up goal after goal. When Hanna Lundvall made it 20-19 and Skuru took the lead for the first time, there were 19 minutes left in the game. Although Kungälv fought back (27-27 with less than seven minutes left), Skuru was able to slip away in the final minutes.
“Absolutely on the right track”
– We make a few more technical errors at the end, which meant that they caught up and were able to win the match. Something happened in the second half that allowed them to turn around, we were careless a bit but are absolutely on the right track, says Kungälv’s nine-goal scorer Kristina Zubonja
At the beginning of the second half, Elin Cindric had a nasty accident. She jumped up and made a finish from the right wing but broke and collapsed in severe pain, clutching her right leg.
The referee gave a red card to Kungälv’s Madeleine Lindgren, who was considered interfering, who had to leave the court.
