For a couple of years, Roger Rönnberg was Robin Figren’s coach in Frölunda.
Now the former player has grown tired of the northerner’s taunting in the television box.
– If you want to hear my personal opinion, it’s gone bad, I think it’s bullshit, says Figren in the GP podcast “Klubbland”.
2013-2017 played Robin Figren36, in Frölunda. The forward was then trusted by his coach Roger Rönnberg53, and in the 2015/2016 season they won SM gold together. Now Figren seems no longer so impressed with his former mentor.

It’s all based on the fact that Roger Rönnberg – who after twelve years in Frölunda will move to Fribourg-Gotteron in Switzerland after the season – has made it a habit to sneeze and gloat during interviews, especially at home in Scandinavium. Often it is when he is interviewed by TV4’s Patrick Westberg which he offers himself a little extra. Robin Figren simply thinks it will be too much.
– If you want to hear my personal opinion, it’s gone, I think it’s bullshit. I’m well aware that I’m farting in the incubator when I have to complain about someone else doing this. Ballat ur is perhaps the wrong word, but it’s too often and then I think they (Rönnberg and Westberg) need to raise the level of the jokes. If they are going to run at this frequency, in every interview and every time, then they have to be a little more fun, says the ex-player in the podcast “Klubbland”, which is produced by Göteborgs-Posten.

On Tuesday, when Frölunda defeated Skellefteå, Rönnberg came out with a strip of silver tape over his mouth in the second period break. Patrik Westberg giggled and asked if the coach wasn’t going to say anything. The action was because Rönnberg wanted to talk about a verdict, which you are not really allowed to do.
– Rogge has a fox behind his ear, he is handsome. They don’t need to lower it to Bolibompa level I feel. I know he can be much more fun than that, silver tape for his mouth…now he gets to step up!, says Figren.

Moons about the league’s profiles
At the same time, the former HV71, Linköping and Djurgårds player is aware that players and coaches who stand out help the sport and the league reach out. It is important to care about SHL’s profiles. Therefore, he does not want to be too hard on Rönnberg.
– Maybe, he is a bit of a pioneer in this particular field. Actually, like everything in the world, it becomes a little easier to be seen and heard and to be who you are. Actually, it might not be so strange, what might be surprising is that it is he who has taken the flag, he says.
During the season, Rönnberg stood very close to the camera, stood facing the wrong direction and spoke and swore at a bottle cap. Many have found him to be funny and light-hearted, while others have found him to be dorky.
