Working for an employer who respects their family life and even helps them reconcile it with their professional life is a dream for many parents. What if we told you that there was a way to find a “family friendly” company that suited you?
Having a child disrupts all aspects of life, including the professional sector. Many parents, especially mothers, fear that having a family will negatively impact their career. It must be said that the world of work is not really adapted to parents, so many employees are forced to make sacrifices.
Hubert and Marie Pellerin understood this well. The latter is a career coach, and has worked with many mothers when they were looking for a better balance between their family and professional life, or when they were retraining. This is how she “identified a real need to create a connection between these talents and companies for whom value matters”explains Hubert Pellerin to Maddyness. And that’s why they created Parents on board (formerly Smart Moms), a platform that allows parents to respond to job offers that suit them, both in terms of missions and support for family life.
Concretely, companies which publish advertisements on the platform may have obtained labels certifying that they have “family friendly” values. For those who don’t have one, “we have developed an internal committee which aims to analyze the relevance and commitments made by companies”indicates Marie Pellerin. When looking for a job, parents can consult offers that match their profile, by selecting certain criteria: certification, the Family Score (a tool which aims to change practices regarding parenting at work) , and the “parental benefits” they are looking for (places in reserved nurseries, teleworking agreement, parenting guide or charter, flexible hours, paid leave for sick children, advantageous family mutual insurance, etc.).
We can thus see that certain companies, such as WeMaintain or elmy offer extended second parent leave, others such as Cabaia, Mediapart or the Nantes University Hospital allow flexible hours, and Worklife, Yolo or even Projet Voltaire have a clear process of returning after maternity leave. A way for parents to ensure that they are not discriminated against or judged because they place an important place on their family life.
