Provincial police have charged a 22-year-old Norfolk County man with numerous offenses following an August 18 single-vehicle collision.
The collision occurred shortly after midnight when a vehicle went off the road and crashed into the 13 Reasons store on Main Street, Port Dover. The collision caused significant damage, Norfolk OPP said.
Police say the driver of the vehicle and a passenger fled the scene on foot before officers arrived.
The accused has been charged with careless driving, failing to remain, failing to report an accident, driving without a license and having care or control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a future date.

Collision in Simcoe
A 48-year-old Norfolk County woman has been charged following a Tuesday morning single-vehicle collision on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe.
The collision occurred just after 10 am Oct. 29 when a pickup truck veered from the road and collided with a hydro pole. No injuries were reported, police said.
The driver was taken into custody and subsequently charged with dangerous driving. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Dec. 3.
Stolen credit card
Norfolk County OPP is hoping someone can help them identify a white male who used a stolen credit card at a Simcoe business.
The stolen credit card was used at a Queensway East business at about 10:33 am on Oct. 22. Police learned the credit card had been taken from a vehicle on Dover Avenue in Port Dover sometime overnight from Oct. 21 to Oct. 22.

The suspect is a white male in his 20s with scruffy brown hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black pants and a while baseball cap with a black brim and sunglasses.
Police say the suspect may also be wearing red and black basketball shoes purchased from the store.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Norfolk OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave an anonymous online at www.helpsolvecrime.com to become eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
Meanwhile, the OPP is urging residents to ensure their vehicles are locked, and valuables are removed.
Vehicle stolen
A sports utility vehicle was stolen from a Mackay Avenue in Simcoe address on Oct. 12.

Norfolk County OPP say the theft took place sometime between 2 pm and 8:45 pm The vehicle, a gray 2003 GMC Yukon SUV, contained ringette gear, hockey equipment, Canadian currency and booster cables, police said.
The vehicle was parked on the road at the time of the theft, police said.
Trailer stolen
Norfolk OPP are investigating the theft of a trailer from a Front Road address in St. Williams.
Police say the trailer is a silver 32-foot galvanized steel boat trailer. It was stolen sometime between May 15, 2024 and Oct. 14, 2024.
Pickup truck stolen
Norfolk OPP is investigating the theft of a pick up truck from a Norfolk County Road 19 East address in Wilsonville.
The theft of the black 2007 Chevrolet Silverado was reported to police just before 8 am Oct. 23.

Vehicle theft
Haldimand County OPP are hoping someone can help them identify the vehicle and the suspects involved in a vehicle theft from a Caledonia residence.
Police say two or more suspects went to a Lise Lane address between 2:50 and 3 am on Oct. 25.
Investigators believe the suspects, while outside the home, used an electronic device to capture the unique signal from the key fob to start and steal the vehicle.
The stolen vehicle has been recovered, police say.
Video surveillance reviewed by investigators shows what appears to be a new model white Honda Civic stop in front of the home and leave with the stolen vehicle simultaneously, police said.
Anyone with who has security video from the area or information about the occupants or the white Honda is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122. Impaired driving
A 23-year-old Caledonia man has been charged after Haldimand County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Officers were called at about 4:25 am Oct. 22 about a suspicious vehicle on Front Street, York.
The officers found the vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged the driver with impaired driving, having care or control of a vehicle with liquor readily available and having care and control of a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on November 26, 2024.
