Police ask the public for tips: “Big or small”

In the press release “Are you the eyes of the police?” reminds the police that socially important objects, such as switchgear, telemasters or power stations, should be intact. Therefore, people who move around these objects in their everyday lives are asked to keep an eye out if anything happens.

If you see someone destroying by, for example, cutting up a fence, taking pictures or flying drones in areas near masts, switchgear or power stations, you should contact the police.

“It can be big or small, Swedish or foreign-registered vehicles, people who behave in a deviant way, etc.,” the police write on their website.

You can then inform the police

  • polisen.se/tip the police
  • Call 114 14, when you get to the voicemail, say “tip” to get on.
  • In the event of a crime in progress: call 112
  • Tell the police? You have to think about that

On the police website there is a tab with the name “Tip the police”. There, the authority clarifies that it does not have to be about an ongoing crime, but that it may be that one has suspicions of future crimes, that one has information about previously committed crimes or information about criminal activities or persons.

The police also write that it can be difficult to know in advance what is a good tip or not, but that you should trust your gut feeling.

Do you live here? This is where the police are heading

It is the police in the north who have issued the call, i.e. police in Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten and Västernorrland counties who want the public to keep an eye out. However, the tip can be applied all over Sweden, in any case at the places where there are objects of social importance.

The reason why this is only now being called for is that the number of notifications and indications that events are occurring at or in connection with socially important objects has increased.

The press release ends with “We need your help to keep Sweden safe!”.
