Paramedics found the mother among the dead bodies

Screamed: “This is my mother, this is my mother” • Killed in Israeli attack

Paramedic Aziz Al-Bardini was to receive the victims brought to a hospital in Gaza where he works.
But after lifting the blanket over one of the bodies, he broke down.
– This is my mother, this is my mother, he shouted, one of the colleagues told AFP.

It was after Wednesday’s Israeli attacks on the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza that several people were brought to the Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir el-Balah. Among them a woman wrapped in a white blanket.

When the paramedic Aziz Al-Bardini lifted the blanket, he realized that it was his mother’s lifeless body lying on the stretcher.

– He saw her face but wasn’t sure it was her. Then he opened the blanket again and started shouting: ‘This is my mother, this is my mother,’ one of the colleagues told AFP.

– We put her next to us in the seat and inspected her, but we didn’t know who she was, continues the colleague.

Pictures from the scene show Aziz Al-Bardini crying over the body of his mother, who was killed in the Israeli attack.

Several other people are also said to have been killed and injured in the attack, including children.

“Attacks against humanitarian zone”

During Wednesday, Israeli bombers attacked a so-called humanitarian zone west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, a tent area where Palestinian refugees have taken shelter from the war was hit. The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports on the dead and wounded.

Israel’s military writes on Telegram that they carried out “precision strikes” against Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists in the humanitarian zone in Khan Yunis. In the statement, they claim to have taken steps to minimize harm to civilians.
