A Harry Potter MMO loses its magic and has to close a year after release

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened was intended to unite fans of the wizard and MMO players. The mobile game was released in June 2023, but around a year later the servers in Europe and America have now been switched off.

Why was the game discontinued? The Harry Potter MMO was shut down last night in Europe, America and Oceania. However, in the countries where the mobile game has existed for a long time, things are still going strong.

Warner Bros. and Portkey Games officials have not given an official reason why the game is no longer available after just one year. The MMO will probably continue to run in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan because it makes good profits there. In the first month of release, it achieved sales of 166.3 million euros in Asia (via Sensor Tower).
