Wanted to kill 20 “naughties” – man sentenced for school threats in Mark’s municipality

It was in August of this year that the municipality of Mark raised the level of preparedness at schools and preschools after a social secretary received the threat from the man, who is now being sentenced for, among other things, illegal threats by the Borås district court.

During the meeting at the social welfare office, the man said he wanted to go to a kindergarten in Kinna and kill 20 “shit kids”.

The social secretary is said to have then said that it was unlikely that there would be 20 children of police officers there. The man then replied: “Shit, they’re going to die anyway. If I let go of the kids, the police will come and shoot me in the chest so I die.”

The threat felt real

Shortly afterwards, the man said he would also go to Borås district court and cut down judges and other staff. In questioning, the social worker expresses that the man’s empathy, facial expressions and gaze made the threats feel real.

The Borås district court also sentences the man for having a knife and ax in his backpack in a public place on the day the school threats were made.

Involved in murder investigation

The same man has been involved in a murder investigation after a death in Borås last year. It was in January 2023 that a woman in her 40s was found dead in her home. She had a fatal dose of narcotics in her body and also injuries from blunt force on her body.

It was initially investigated by the police as a poison murder, but the investigation cannot show how the woman ingested the drugs.

Initially, the man was suspected of murder, but will instead be charged with aggravated assault, according to prosecutor Carolyn Westeröd.
