A suspiciously dangerous object has been found in Stockholm’s Old Town.
The police have cordoned off a large area around Skeppsbron.
– National bomb protection is on its way, says police spokesperson Ola Österling.
The police are on site with an extensive operation in the Old Town during the morning.
– At 07.15 we received a call from a person who found a suspiciously dangerous object lying completely open in the Old Town. The person remained at the scene so that no one would run over the object, says Ola Österling.
The National Bomb Squad is on its way to the scene.
Large area cordoned off
The item was found on Skeppsbron, but the police state that a “significantly larger area” is cordoned off.
– There will be problems for the morning traffic along Skeppsbron and Munkbron, says Ola Österling.
It is still unclear what kind of object it is.
