Change title – earn thousands
But you, who are in a negotiation about a job you would like to have, should have an important detail in mind.
It turns out in a survey, carried out by the trade union Akavia, that you can earn thousands of kroner in salary by changing the title of your position.
Nine out of ten graduates answered in the survey that they never brought up the title during a negotiation with their boss or future boss. But there is a lot to be gained from listening to that, says the negotiator and salary expert Caroline Lindeberg at Akavia.
– The worst that can happen is that they say no, she says TV4.

This is how much you can earn if you change your job title
According to the union’s salary statistics, which have been based on around 44,000 members, the median salary is on average SEK 20,000 higher per month for a financial manager compared to a financial manager.
The difference turns out to be almost as big, SEK 18,000 a month, between a communications manager and a communications manager.
Lindeberg tells TV4 that a nicer title makes it easier to communicate with actors outside the company, but also managers internally, for example if you are negotiating salary or looking for a new job.
If you are offered a new position, you should therefore raise the issue of title at the final stage of the process, she believes.
– Then there is a greater probability that you will come to an agreement. They want you. Then a little power comes back to the seeker.
One way to raise the issue is to mention that you want to clarify your professional role in the negotiation you have already started.
