Scotland is no longer in the way of the Finnish women’s national football team’s EC dream.
Helmarit is only one pair of matches away from the EC final tournament to be played in Switzerland next summer.
In the decisive second round, they will face Scotland, who defeated Hungary 1–0 in the opening part and 4–0 in the second part on Tuesday.
– We have been successful against world-class teams throughout the year. Scotland is slightly above us in the world rankings. There will be a team against which a top performance is needed, the head coach Marko Saloranta anticipate.
The matches of the final qualifying round will be played between November 27 and November 3. december Finland’s home match is the last one, and at the same time Helmarien’s home stadium changes from Tammela to Töölö football stadium in Helsinki.
Finland is 26th in the Fifa ranking, Scotland 23rd.
The EC final tournament will be played in Switzerland from the 2nd to the 27th. July 2025.
