Linn Svahn has been with her partner for almost four years.
But she still refuses to talk about him.
At the national team’s kick-off meeting, she said a few words about her love for the Sports Bible.
2019 got Lynn Svahn24, his big break. The sprint expert from Lycksele became the female athlete of the year at the Sports Gala the following year for her incredible efforts on the ski track. As a 21-year-old, she had managed to accumulate nine World Cup victories, which was a record for such a young skater.
“Means a lot to me”
Over the years, Linn Svahn has impressed with several important victories in the World Cup and in the Sprint Cup, but a tough shoulder injury stopped her from many competitions in the years 2020-2022.
Ahead of the new season, she is ready for both the Tour de Ski and the WC in Trondheim after the turn of the year. After picking up 13 podiums (most of any woman) and overall victory in the Sprint Cup last year, she is ready to go for her first championship medal.
– I don’t really feel that much pressure. I don’t think I had a fair chance for a single year. I want more just to have the opportunity to drive if for once there would be no problems in front of it. Then of course there is something I want (medals). It’s probably more with myself that it feels valuable and important than that I feel any pressure based on the fact that it won’t be on my Wikipedia page, she says to Sportbibeln.
Would you be disappointed or angry if you didn’t win a medal at the WC?
– I don’t know, I think so because I think it means a lot to me. It still feels important every now and then. Then a week later I probably couldn’t care less.

Quiet about his private life
She has previously been very secretive about her private life. Last season, she participated in SVT’s “Kallprat” was clear that she did not want to say anything about her secret boyfriend, whom she admitted that she had been with for three years, to the presenter Johan Kücükaslan.
– It has become more that I have backed off even more, even though I was clear from the start that I have that need. I still feel that I can separate Linn and the skier, because at home I am Linn, in my house I am Linn, I am not a skier. There I feel more that it is not Linn who is famous, it is the skier, she said in the program.
– It is not a matter of course to be public just because I ski, I have not chosen to be public but I have chosen to succeed in my sport, which is a public thing. So I don’t think it should mean that you have the right to know what it looks like at home, my closest relationships, who my partner is, she continued.

But when Sportbibeln got a short interview with Linn Svahn during the national team’s kick-off meeting in Solna, she happened to mention her partner at one point and at the same moment revealed an odd detail about him.
Boyfriend’s favorite team
It was when she was asked if she has a favorite team in any sport that she started talking about her partner.
– No. But my partner loves Arsenal, so I would certainly get a gold star if I told them, she says.
Even later when she was asked what she usually does when no one is watching, the conversation drifted into her relationship with her secret partner. After that, however, she was not at all keen to continue talking about her private life.
– Maybe sleeping. I hope no one sees me when I sleep.
A roommate perhaps?
– Yes, but I hope he’s also sleeping.
It would be a bit scary otherwise.
– Yes, I think so.
Now we’re keeping our fingers crossed that Linn Svahn has a great season this year and succeeds well in the WC – and above all stays healthy and well before the championship.
