“House buying blind” is the program where families and couples hand over their savings to the experts, who in turn will find the participants’ dream home. The crux is that the participants have no idea which house the experts are buying. The program premiered in autumn 2023, and is led by Carin da Silva.

In the second season, viewers get to meet Sophie and Hemp who lives with her three ferrets in an apartment in central Örebro, which is starting to feel too small. Now they want a bigger home where they have room for all their interests. In addition, they have three ferrets that will also come with them and have a place in the move. The couple loves socializing, and when they have friends over, they would have liked to have larger areas.

Hampus and Sofie take part in “Buying a house blindly”
Film enthusiast Hampus dreams of creating a home cinema, and future florist Sofie would like to have a garden and a glassed-in balcony. In addition, they would like to have their own room for the ferrets. Now the interior design expert will Lena Nyman and the broker Sebastian Stojanovic help the couple find the perfect home, something that could become a real challenge with the couple’s budget of SEK 3.3 million.

But this turns out to be easier said than done. After a talk with the bank, the couple manage to increase the loan promise by SEK 160,000, which means that Sebastian finally manages to find a house that he thinks suits the couple.

The couple is surprised by their new house: “A shock”
The house that Sebastian has bought is a semi-detached house from the 60s of 109 square meters. The final price landed at SEK 3 million, which means that there are SEK 400,000 left for renovation and interior design.

But before that, Sofie and Hampus will visit their house for the first time. They are taken to the house blindfolded, and are not told where it is or what it looks like from the outside. And the reactions on the inside are questionable to say the least.

The first thing that happens in the hall is that they are met by brown walls, which the couple would rather not have. They experience the kitchen as cramped, and the open plan they dreamed of shines with its absence. The bathroom next to the kitchen is also far from what the couple wants.

– The bathroom was a shock. It smelled musty and wasn’t quite fresh, says Sofie.
The parquet floor and the white walls in the living room are not something that Sofie and Hampus like, because they would like dark colors and a different floor.
– As it is now, it doesn’t feel fun at all, says the couple.
In other words, it didn’t turn out exactly as the couple had hoped.
– They feel quite disappointed. Especially in the kitchen and bathroom, says Carin da Silva.
After that, Lena Nyman will do her best to transform the house into Hampu and Sofie’s dream home. But will she succeed?
