Drank tea with the murderers – that’s how the murder on Skallberget is said to have happened

On November 17, 2023, a gang leader is shot to death in his apartment on Skallberget in Västerås.

It takes almost a month before the police arrest the first suspect. It happens when the police blow up a murder squad in Upplands-Väsby. Their gun turns out to be the murder weapon from Skallberget – and can be linked to a 30-year-old Västerås man and his cronies.

Key witness comes forward

A currently 20-year-old man from Skåne is being questioned in the case. Unlike the other three suspects, he decides to tell.

According to his testimony, the 20-year-old is said to have been offered 100,000 kroner to commit the murder of the gang leader, and accepted because he needed money for drugs. He points out the others involved, and gives his view of what happened the day the gang leader was murdered.

Involved minor in crime

The key witness, who is charged with murder and aggravated weapons offences, denies having shot the gang leader. He believes that, despite pressure, he refused to go up to the apartment at the time of the murder. The other three defendants deny any wrongdoing.

Two of the men are charged, in addition to the murder, for the new crime of having involved a minor in crime. It concerns two boys, who were 16 and 14 at the time of the murder. The youngest boy cannot be charged because of his age. His responsibility for the murder is to be investigated with the help of evidentiary proceedings.
