– It’s fantastic and always just as fun to win, it’s really strong. We have been by far the best team, even if it was like that at the end, but now we stand here as winners with two games left and it’s incredible emotions, says Isaac Kiese Thelin to SVT Sport from the chaos on the field.
Before the final whistle sounded after twelve minutes of added time, the fans had unfurled a large banner with the text “WE WON AGAIN”. Gold flares were lit and a large plane storm, despite the club’s pleas, was carried out. The players got rid of various jerseys and other equipment from the fans.
– This feeling when we have won is always the best when you see all the happy people. I want to say a big thank you to all the fans, we’ve done this together, says Kiese Thelin.
“Everything has a meaning”
After just under an hour, Wessles fast forward Taha Ali cut in and made it 1-1 for Malmö FF with his first goal of the season and created golden weather in the boiling arena.
– Everything has a meaning and I put my life in God’s hands and of course I have wanted to score before but everything has its time and it happened today and it was decisive. I will enjoy what we have achieved, says Ali, who has become without shorts.
The big cheer came a quarter of an hour from the end. Taha Ali played the ball in for Hugo Bolin, who turned around and scored 2-1 for Malmö. The Bengals were fired up and Sebastian Nanasi, turned pro in Strasbourg this summer, cheered in the stands that swayed and sang with joy.
– Fantastic, it can hardly be explained. It was like all the emotions went out and I just screamed, says Bolin.
A memory you will carry with you for a long time?
– The rest of my life, 100 percent, the biggest thing that has happened in my career.
